Maya Raviv

Maya Raviv started her academic studies in 1994 at the school of performing
arts in "Seminar Hakibutsim" college in Tel Aviv , Israel. She graduated
from the theater program as a professional actress and as a drama teacher
in 1997. She studied dance for a year at the "Bikurey HaEtim" dance
center in Tel Aviv and then performed for three years with a musical project
that included 7 vocalists, accordion and clarinet. She then started working
on her BM in Vocal performence at "Hed" music college in Tel Aviv
and came
to OCU to complete her studies. After graduation she had a year of "interfaith through music", in which she traveled on Peace Missions with a violinist to Jordan, Israel, and all over the U.S performing Hebrew prayers and connecting with people of different faiths. Her first solo album, "To the Eagle", is a collection of eight Hebrew prayers for voice and violin. Two of the prayers were composed by Maya especially for this album. Shortly after the album was released, Harvard University purchased it for their permanent Judaica collection. Maya began MM studies in composition in 2004.
