PROJECT 21 PRIZE FOR MUSIC COMPOSITION


Categories


Concert Division: Original works featuring any combination of instruments with or without voice and/or electronics.

 

Film Score Division: Original score to the short film available below:

Awards

 

One winner will be selected from each category. Winning works will be presented and recorded by musicians from the Wanda L. Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University during a Fall 2010 concert of the OCU composers' group, Project 21: Music for the 21stCentury.

 

Judging

 

Winning pieces will be selected by a panel of faculty members from the Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University. The decision of the judges is final, including the right to award no prize.

 

Eligibility


All students enrolled in high school for Fall 2010 are eligible to compete for the Project 21 Prize for Music Composition.


Submission requirements


Composers may submit up to three works in the Concert Division category. Entry form and music files must be received by August 16, 2010.


Concert Division: Contestants should submit scores in pdf format. The name of the composer and title of the piece must be clearly labeled on each submission. If available, composers should submit audio files in mp3 format. Entries should be uploaded to the competition entry page on project21composers.com

 

Film Score Division: Contestants should submit work as a Quicktime file with music embedded.  A score is not required.  Entries should be uploaded to the competition entry page on project21composers.com. 

 

Notification


The winning composer(s) will be notified by September 1, 2010.
